Bill “BillyRock” McCarthy is in a unique category of singing drummers. The front man of The BillyRock Band has performed all over the world with a variety of symphony ensembles, opera singers, and Grammy Artists. His drumming has put him on stage supporting notable artists such as, Philip Myers, Jim Keller (Tommy Tutone), Los Lobos, Cee Lo Green, John Elephante (Kansas), Bobby Kimball (Toto), Alex Ligertwood (Santana), Kim Wilson (Fabulous Thunderbirds) and War, to name a few.
As a seasoned drummer and vocalist, Billy has performed on award winning albums, films, commercials, radio, and television broadcasts.
His career in entertainment began over 25 years ago and lead him to Ohio Univ. where he performed on several albums and studied Communications and percussion. His drumming and love of media were honed at Ohio University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications with a background in acting, theater, and music.

Billy’s touring and artist credentials include performances with Katie Reider, whose songs “What you don’t know”, “Piece of Soul” and “Silent Night” were featured on ABC, Lifetime’s Strong Medicine, and WB’s Dawson’s Creek. Billy also toured with Nathan Whitt in support of his singles “Shadow Jumping” and “Charade”, which both reached #32 and #60 on the AC adult contemporary top 40 charts. He has also shared the stage with War, Blessid Union of Souls, Cory Stevens, Chief’s Tale, and the
Voodoo Loons to name a few.
“BillyRock” has also performed with such legends as Toto, the Fabulous Thunderbirds, Alex Ligertwood of Santana, Philip Myers, and the Broadmoor Symphony. A seasoned drummer and vocalist, Billy is still touring worldwide and enjoying fronting The BillyRock Band locally and tours approximately 160 to 200 dates a year. When Bill isn’t touring, he partners with and produces for
Mind Ignition LLC. Bill has enjoyed a wide spectrum of audio/visual projects with Mind Ignition, including voiceover work, concept development, foley work, script writing, sales, talent casting, and acting.
